In this Sacred Space, Local Grandmothers’ Councils are intertwined globally by the tender strings of our hearts. Our collective intentions amplify individual contributions.
The Global Grandmothers’ Council provides a worldview that emphasizes the preservation of our Elders’ wisdom, the sharing of that wisdom, and the provision of nourishment in exchange for sharing our wisdom. When you engage with a Grandmother’s service, teaching, or creativity in this space, rest assured that both you and the Grandmother reap the benefits.

Our Mission:
* To nurture deep care, reverence, and wisdom through meaningful gatherings, creative expression, community initiatives, publications, and online spaces that honor the sacred nature of life.
* To foster inclusive and just communities—social, economic, political, educational, environmental, cultural, and spiritual—that uphold the health, dignity, and well-being of all beings across all realms.
* To preserve, protect, and share the wisdom of our Elders and Grandmothers—offering their guidance to a world urgently in need of rooted, compassionate leadership.
Our Vision:
We envision a world where the sacredness of all life is honored—not only in word, but in the daily actions of individuals. A world where generations are woven together in love, wisdom, and mutual respect.
Our Values:
In mid-2024, we invited our members—spanning more than 50 countries—to share the values that shape their lives. From that, we gathered 260 unique responses, reflecting a vibrant global tapestry of principles. These values are available for reference in the FILES section of our Facebook Group.
Our Intention:
We are the seed and the sanctuary—a sacred gathering place where Wisdom Councils take root, where hearts connect, and voices rise in unity. We collaborate across cultures and continents, holding hands in the spirit of peace, healing, and global kinship.
ABOUT US
The Global Grandmothers’ Council Network is a vibrant and thriving Facebook community founded in 2019 by Suzanne Lewis, Sharon Reigie Maynard, and Brooke Medicine Eagle. This group, fondly known as the Grey Tsunami, has seen exponential growth, expanding from 1,600 members in 2024 to a staggering 55,000, with new voices joining daily.
The Network has found its home with Peace Production, with Mayana Kingery acting as Administrative Consultant, where it has been granted 501c3 nonprofit status in the US under the Peace Production umbrella. Discover more about Peace Production.
